Summary: The subject aims to provide students with an understanding of scientific writing and methodology and its applications in the development of research projects and technical and scientific articles. The topics to be addressed are: 1. What is scientific methodology: definition, types of research, procedures that characterize scientific method, data collection and information. 2. Scientific writing: bases, types and quality of production, database and ethical aspects. 3. Steps in preparing the research project. 4. Dissertation: what it is, how it is done and how it is written. 5. Writing scientific articles: items that make up a scientific article and main considerations in writing. 6. Plagiarism, citations and bibliographic references. 7. Norms for bibliographic references.
